Fancy Dress Ideas to promote Laser Tag?
For the Sports and Societies fair at university, I’m holding a laser tag stool. I really want to draw some attention to it so has anyone got any ideas what kind of fancy dress I should wear to do so? I would like something laser tag related (even if distant) without isolating the society as a society of geekish people (star trek, star wars, etc.). My budget is £20 (more if it’s something good). :)
The only one I can think of is a ghost buster but the cute costume is really expensive.
Thanks you!

You should be able to borrow the laser tag chest piece and guns from the company you go to, if its only for one day. I’m sure they would be more than happy to assist you with the extra marketing at the local universities sports and societies fair. They should have some promotional materials you can have on the stand as well.
After that you just have to choose what clothes to wear under them. I would contact all last years members and see what outfits they already have. Rugby, football, and other sports shirts for your uni are likely to be appreciated, as are any other commonly seen outfits on your campus. Other normal wardrobe possibilities might include combats, the styles of the various music scenes (although this may be too specific), or just normal shorts and T’s. Other than that I would shop around the charity shops in the local town to see what your £20 will get you, or contact a fancy dress hire company and see if they can combine with you and do some marketing like the above. After seeing the movie prom night the other week, I also had the bizarre notion that you could do it in eveningwear like at the hall balls, with the girls in prom gowns and laser tag kit, but I think that may be going a bit too far.
The ghostbuster thing really only needs a boiler suit, with a temporary badge costing about £5. You can make a backpack from a cardboard box and some left over piping. Oh, and by the way, tut, tut, for criticising Star Trek and Star Wars – the last Trek film is going to be followed by 2 new sequels, and George Lucas is redoing the Star Wars blurays so this business is still turning over some serious cash.

Alien Invasion Party Fancy Dress Ideas?
I’m a 24yr old female hosting an alien invasion party and I want to think of a cool unusual costume to wear. Sorry to be fussy but ideally I do not want to wear a full face mask or be anyone from Star Wars or Star Trek.
Any ideas who/what I can go as and how I would make the costume?

Costume Ideas Please Help!!?
I got accepted into the UNIQ Summer School at Oxford (amazingly!) and they’re doing a party at the end of the week where it’s fancy dress and you have to go in costumes based on the theme of the letters U N I and Q. Am looking for ideas as I can’t come up with anything apart from the character Q from Star Trek, but the last time I did fancy dress I went as Arthur Dent (yes I do have a thing for sci-fi as long as it’s not Star Wars) and this time I’d like to actually dress up as a character who is a girl (as I am a girl).
I need something rather simple so I don’t have to buy a lot of stuff and also so it’s easy to pack. I’m not really concerned with something spectacular because winning isn’t really vital and I don’t want to look like an idiot in front of a hall full of strangers. So any ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks!
Oh by the way the subject I’m studying is Classics but I don’t think I really need to go as a classical figure but it could be an interesting thing to do…
I think I may go as Harley Quinn, as Quinn contains all of the letters, though I’m still open to other suggestions as that is a pretty elaborate costume. And I must stress again, please ideas that involve me dressing up as a female character!

Draco Malfoy FEMALE Costume?
want to go to an upcoming fancy dress party as none other than the little tyrant that is Draco Malfoy.
Oh I feel bad for saying that, he’s my ultimate favourite, he isnt a tyrant, he’s just misunderstood :) haha
Anyhow, im obviously a girl. I’m 20 so we will be going out on the town in these costumes, but i have my heart set on female malfoy. How would I do this?
I have really short hair anyways, not sure how to describe it, but you probably know what i mean, like hmm, i think at one point sienna miller had hers like this, except i wear mine spikier (:
So having short hair isnt a problem, however mine is dark brown – do i dye it platinum blonde…would this even work? or do i use white spray in hair colour?
And the costume, well obviously I’ll have a Slytherin tie, and i dont want full robes as its summer and i’ll be out on the town in the bars and nightclubs, so just regular school uniform? What should I wear though? Knee high socks or not? little pleated skirt, pencil skirt or what? Tie or scarf? Green platforms? Snake sandals? Platform heeled black shoes?
Also i need a wand, im not sure if they sell draco ones but i’ll be having a look around, if not, how would i make one?
I just need general help. And if you dont think this would be a good costume idea what do you think i should go as? I debated a star trek lady (the dresses) and the mad hatter (sexy dress costume thingy) but i just love harry potter and draco malfoy and i dont think its something anyone else at an adult party will turn up in, which is good, because i love to be more inventive and original
Thanks so much :)
xx
I wont be “ditching my costume” im twenty years old, married with children for gods sake!
And yes, i am a “nerd”. problem?

You should really think about this carefully: you’re going to have to explain your costume to every single person you see at this party, because otherwise none of them will get what you’re trying to do. I understand that you like Malfoy, but do you really want to go through all that trouble? Honestly, you’re better off just dressing like a wizard, wearing glasses, and drawing a lightning bolt on your forehead so everyone immediately will go “hey, nice harry potter costume!” to which you could respond “thanks! I was going to be malfoy but then i realized no one would get it and i’d have to explain it over and over again.”
