With his much-anticipated movie “Super 8” finally hitting theaters this Friday, JJ Abrams is starting to turn his focus to his next project, the sequel to his reboot of “Star Trek.” While the studio has already set a release date of June 29, 2012 for the film, Abrams told us it’s not set in stone, because he’s not going to let a deadline get in the way of making the best movie possible. Similarly, having essentially rewritten “Star Trek’s” history in the last movie, he feels like he can boldly take the franchise where it’s never gone before — again, as long as he’s making a good movie.
