Wow I eventally found someone else with morethan two brain cells! The story was boring as this type of story has been done to death, there was nothing new. A lot of people seem to be very misguided, this film is not a reboot. On a personal note, TNG was much more interesting, diverse and had far better acting.

I think everyone is taking this movie a little to seriously imo

Star Trek (2009) is Real masterpiece with brilliant acting. Chris Pine, Winona Ryder, Eric Bana, Jennifer Morrison, Karl Urban were amazing!

You know, if all those whining Trekkies would just try to forget for a second the horrible science, the incredibly lazy writing, the obnoxious cinematography, the uninteresting story, the onedimensional characters, the utter reversal of Roddenberry’s message, and the overall laughable chaos of this movie, they’d see it as the masterpiece of epic proportions it is!
That was sarcasm, fanbois. Just to make sure.

Spock was supposed to kiss Uhura in TOS, but they gave the kiss to Kirk instead. Also, all those scenes with Spock playing the harp and Uhura singing? It really didn’t come out of nowhere at all.

I loved all the Star Trek cast. My favourites are Karl Urban as Leonard “Bones” McCoy and Anton Yelchin as Chekov. He plays a better Chekov than Walter Koenig. Star Trek needs new blood, and I believe that this movie provided that needed new blood. I do hope they make a sequal. Something different for a change, eh?

I give it a 9 to it was a great movie but it followed Star Wars a little to much

I’d have given it 4 out of 10 after I saw it, but some days later when I sat in the subway and had some minutes to think about it again, my opinion of this movie dropped to 2,5 out of 10. Couldn’t think of a movie that occurs significantly worse to me.
…I don’t know many movies in general, might be the reason for the comparably weak impression this one made on me.

@20CEnergizas Well I’m sure your opinion is well based because you don’t even consider it nescessary to list reasons for it.
Everyone else would just say it dismantles you as an idiot.
